A Book to Keep Within Arm's Reach
When you crack open a new manual and discover an instruction-set
table on the inside front cover, you can be pretty confident you're
not about to ingest a book of empty calories. And indeed, that's
the case with the ARM System Developer's Guide by
Andrew N. Sloss, Dominic Symes, and Chris Wright (Morgan Kaufmann
Publishers, $69.95). This 690-page book is packed with detailed
information about ARM processors. With hundreds of code examples,
diagrams, and tables, it functions as a useful reference work as
well as an educational tutorial for programmers and system developers.
The only flaw is that, like almost all technology books, it has
difficulty keeping up to dateit contains only three paragraphs
about TrustZone and, of course, nothing about OptimoDE. To learn
more about the book, visit www.mkp.com.
